I never really cared or worried about the need for representation until I faced my fifth DWI. The fact is I felt the system was against me, and I didn't care anymore. I couldn't get my license reinstated no matter what I did and was looking at 200 days in jail. The officer that arrested me on the charge recommended that I call, Mr. Philbrook. Calling him was probably the best thing I ever did when faced with the challenges of the legal system. We need good counsel. Matthew guided me through all the steps I faced in the booking process, breathalyzer process, and represented me in court. All said and done I only received 10 days in jail and also through his dealings with the DMV got my license reinstated, I didn't even have to get the ignition interlock installed on my car. I got caught up in a bad situation with a (potential) DUI. I called a friend of mine who is a lawyer and he referred me to Matt. I called Matt's office and spoke with Matt briefly and discussed my case. He offered to appear with me on my initial appearance with no strings and we would meet afterward and discuss my options and if I would retain his services. I chose to retain him that morning and he advised me on my next steps.
Matt and his office staff were there for me helping me along in this unfortunate situation. They kept in contact with the prosecutors office and was able to negotiate a plea agreement. The biggest advantage of having Matt was his ability to handle my eventual hearing with the DOL regarding my license. I understand you don't win them all, but having Matt help me win that battle.
