In Case of DUI Traffic Stop Keep These Rules with Vehicle Registration
Be polite and respectful. The officer is only doing his job.
Have driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance ready to give to officer.
Answer questions directly, and do not ramble. If you can't tell the truth, politely refuse to answer.
If you are asked to take "Field Sobriety Tests"; politely refuse. This can not be used against you.
If you believe yourself to be intoxicated:
Refuse to be video or audio recorded. And,
Refuse to take a roadside breath test. Refusal of this test will not lead to an automatic license suspension.
If you do not believe yourself to be intoxicated:
Ask to take a roadside breath test. This is an objective way of proving your innocence, and can't be used against you at trial.
If arrested, you have the right to speak with an attorney. Invoke this right.
CALL Matthew Philbrook at 360-609-8384.
